Book Review: His Royal Dogness, Guy the Beagle: The Rebarkable True Story of Meghan Markle's Rescue Dog by Camille March and Michael Brumm Illustrated by EG Keller ISBN: 978-1-9821-1462-6

Do you want to know all the secrets of the Royal Pets? His Royal Dogness, Guy the Beagle: The Rebarkable True Story of Meghan Markle's Rescue Dog by Camille March and Michael Brumm and Illustrated by EG Keller will give you all the background of the newest royal dog.

This book is cute and funny.  It tells about how the duchess came to possess Guy.

This book would make a great addition to your family home evening stories and those bedtime stories you read to all your little knee huggers.

The book is well-illustrated. Unlike most children’s books today, the colors are not intense.  This is a great thing for an easily overstimulated child. As your child deprograms from the day’s technology intense activities, this might be a good step down as you try to get them to bed.

We think every child should have His Royal Dogness, Guy the Beagle, under the Christmas tree. Grandparents, are you listening?

Review of: Mackenzie Goes Adventuring Board Game and Activity Kit by Post Mortem Publications

We loved the book Mackenzie Goes Adventuring and thought it was great for all children.  Now, Post Mortem Publications has released the Mackenzie Goes Adventuring Board Game and Activity Kit and it is great.

Every year about this time, children begin to ask their parents for that one special game.  This year, this activity kit will be among those most asked for.

The game is easy to play.  Adults will love spending time with their kids.  It also plays fairly quickly, so those kids who have a very short attention span will get to finish the game.

The Mackenzie Goes Adventuring Board Game and Activity Kit also comes with a puzzle and coloring book.  This will give children hours of fun. All the parts are well-made and will stand up to most children. You will want to add this activity kit to your family home evening.

We were sent a complimentary copy of this activity kit.  We are under no obligation to write any review, positive or negative.

Book Review: Voting With a Porpoise by Russell Glass and Sean Callahan, Illustrated by Daniel Howarth ISBN: 978-1-7327454-1-4

We all know we should vote.  We also know we should teach our children to vote. The book Voting With a Porpoise by Russell Glass and Sean Callahan, Illustrated by Daniel Howarth, was intended to do that, but it falls short of the mark.

This book does not teach about learning the issues for oneself and understanding where the candidates stand.

We live in a representative republic.  This means we elect officials to make laws for us.  If we do not understand the issues and where each candidate stands on those issues, our vote is dangerous. The book needs to teach children that, yes, they should vote but, they should understand what they are voting for and why.

Voting With a Porpoise can be used as a teaching tool, but parents and teachers should use it as a way to start a conversation about what voting actually means and the importance of the vote itself.
